Today's card is a pretty, soft and feminine card to make for someone special and can be made to fit any occasion. I cased it from our Annual Catalog on page 91 but just tweaked it a bit to make it my own.
In the video you can also see the baby wipe technique which gave us the lovely subtle backgrounds I used for the stitched circle and nested label die cuts.
The card in the video will be going to my friend who just got home after a very long five and a half weeks between hospital and rehab. She has still got a long road to recovery.
I also made this special card with highland heather cardstock behind the laser cut design the photo is below. That too was very pretty and soft. I sent it to my sister who just got out of the hospital after having a mastectomy but i used the sentiments from the Healing Hugs Stamp Set, "Wishing you a quick and speedy recovery". I wrote a special message inside letting her know how proud i am of her decision and of how brave she has been throughout her breast cancer diagnosis. So, the reason I am writing this to to urge every woman out there to get checked out..don't neglect getting your mammogram when recommended. There has never been any breast cancer in our family before this, so don't put it off thinking nah, i don't need to worry about breast cancer my family history only shows heart issues.... My sister is 71 ...Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers during her recovery from surgery.
SO, yes.... crafting and making cards is MY CREATIVE THERAPY and I've needed lots of it lately!
