HOW TO GET AMAZING, TEXTURED, WOW FACTOR RESULTS WITH DIFFERENT EMBOSSING FOLDERS - PART 1

You can truly get wonderfully detailed and textured results on your projects by using Embossing Folders! There are so many techniques and styles of folders that the amount of different designs of embossed cards can seem endless. Floral, wood planks, brick, lace and textiles just to name a few make an array of elegant, subtle and beautifully detailed 3 D designs. 

I not only showed different techniques using the Ornate Floral and Dainty Diamond Embossing Folders but also some tricks and tips on embellishing your cards for maximum effect too, like color your ribbon with Stampin' Blends to coordinate, Color your rhinestones and pearls too or Stamp your sentiments on ribbon instead of on your card.

Part 2 to follow soon where I will show how to use different mediums to color with your embossing folder textured cards. Color wash, ombre, foil, shimmer paint, wink of stella, splatter and even emboss your designer series paper.

Embossed Missing You Card with Brusho

I am making some of these for a swap and thought I'd share. I love using Brusho and glimmer spray...love things nice and sparkly. I used one of the large flowers from the Remarkable You stamp set, the flowered embossing folder from the Petal Pair (set of 2 folders) and of course Prussian Blue Brusho and Silver Bakers Twine.

Petal Pair Embossing Folder (Flower one)

8 1/2" X 5 1/2" Thick Whisper White Card Stock

4 1/8" X 3 1/8" Night of Navy Card Stock

Scrap of Whisper White and Night of Navy (for sentiment)

Watercolor Paper (large piece, you will cut down to 3" X  4" when dry)

Silver Bakers Twine

Classic Label Punch

Blender Pen

Wink of Stella Clear

Memento Back Ink Pad

Old Olive Ink Pad

Wisteria Wonder Ink Pad

Night of Navy Ink Pad

Instructions

1.  Prepare Watercolor Paper and Brusho first and set aside to dry.

     (Spray watercolor paper liberally with water, spinkle with Brusho) 

2.  When watercolor paper is dry stamp flower with Memento ink. Cut paper down to 3" X 4". Color stem using blender pen and old olive ink, color flower using blender pen and wisteria wonder ink. Color with wink of stella glitter pen.

3. Using fast fuse or tear and tape adhere watercolor paper to night of navy card stock.

4. Wrap silver bakers twine on an angle twice around #3 above, tie a bow and add on the right side with a glue dot.

5. Take thick whisper white cars and run through Big Shot with petal pair flowered embossing folder (on the left of card). You can add a score line to the right of embossed flowers if you wish.

6. Add dimensionals to the back of night of navy card stock and adhere to card front.

7. Stamp sentiment in night of navy. punch out with classic label punch, glue onto 1/2" wide strip of night of navy card stock, trim off pointed ends. Attach to card over bakers twine.

2 pieces - 9" each - Very Vanilla Gold Metallic Edged Ribbon

Layering Leaves Embossing Folder

Soft Sky, Perfect Plum, Pear Pizzaz, Sweet Sugar Plum and Wisteria Wonder Ink Pads

Adhesive, glue dots

1.  Emboss your card base using the Layered Leaves Embossing Folder. 

2.  Using the 2 3/4" X 4" Very Vanilla card stock piece set up your stamps on the Stamparatus to stamp where you want. (Watch video for placement and sequence instruction if needed). 

3. Stamp using Soft Sky, Wisteria Wonder, Pear Pizzaz and Sweet Sugar Plum ink Pads. (I used Stampin Spots from my Paper Pumpkin Kits for the smaller stamps). 

4. Stamp your "Thank You" sentiment in Sweet Sugar Plum and punch out with the Classic Label Punch. 

5. Take your Wink of Stella and Perfect Plum ink pad squeezing the lid to create an ink pool. Color the flowers (Use an aqua painter if you wish). Clean lid when finished. 

6. Adhere to Pear Pizzaz Card Stock then adhere in the center of your card. 

7. Apply Very Vanilla Metallic Edged Ribbon to top of card, make a bow and use glue dot to attach both. 

8. Sponge around sentiment in Sweet Sugar Plum and place near bottom of stems of lavender.
