Designer Series Paper - At a Glance

How to organize your12" x  12" DSP.
Last year I went on a Kylie's "Love it Chop it" kick, that's where you cut you DSP into manageable/ usable sizes. 4" X  6", 6" X  6" etc. It was really a good way to make me see, and use more of Stampin' Up's beautiful DSP and not hoard it from year to year.
However, I have come to the conclusion that from now on I will do that at years end! That's when our "NEW" for now (June 2019) will be replaced in the yearly  turnover...yep I mean the next 2020-2021 Annual Catalog.
If you need help with quickly finding what color cardstock matches with that specific Designer Series Paper here is an awesome way to keep your colors and DSP together so you can find your match just by glancing at the color circles.
I think this will also be an awesome way too for us hoarders of paper to use it more often too.
I really love how Stampin' Up gives us coordinating colors on the back of the DSP packs but I need more than words. VISUALS work for me. So punching out the 1-1/2" coordinating color circles and putting them with my "DSP - At a Glance"works better for me.
I used my Open Office program to write all the DSP names and printed them out on Whisper White Cardstock
Woven Threads, Magnolia Lane, Garden Lane, Follow Your Art, Bird Ballad, Dinoroar, Perennial Essence, See a Silhouette, Come Sail Away, Pressed Petals, Mosaic Mood, and Noble Peacock.

5. Adhere front and back design side by side on left side and right side of Whisper White Cardstock like so.
     1-2                 3-4

Make your own DSP

I used the Painted Seasons Stamp Set to make some "Janice Designed Paper" to use on cards because as of the end of this month the DSP that you could get for FREE during Sale-A-Bration will be no longer and I just LOVE LOVE LOVE this stamp set and of course the matching Four Seasons framelits.
To make your own....decide which stamp set or sets you want to use and colors, depending on season or maybe you need a certain subject, then think about what colors would compliment the cardstock, stamps etc.
Once you are done stamping your 8-1/2" X 11" or 12" X 12" Sheets of cardstock here's a few other ideas...

1.  You can turn over on the back and draw the pattern to cut it and make it an actual one sheet wonder (search my Blog for One Sheet Wonder in the search box)
This was a daisy One Sheet Wonder. (Sorry I can't find the photo)When I cut this one I also cut the cardstock for the backing to the size needed and punched out the flowers and small strips of cardstock etc and put each yet unmade card into an envelope and then all in a zip lock baggie so as not to mix them up...It's like a little "kit" that you can take with you anywhere and complete if you wanted. Just add ink spots, adhesive your normal go to crafting staples and there ya go.
This one I used the Petal Promenade Stamp Set.

This one I used with the Painted Harvest Stamp Set (March 13, 2018)
Do a search in my blog for those if you'd like to get some ideas for cards.

2. Pick a stamp to use on top of your already stamped sheet and stamp with VERSAMARK, add ANY color embossing powder on top of your stamped images and heat. I love a little gold (like the first photo of the ones from the video)or silver especially in holiday cards.

3. Use Embossing Folders when you are making your cards with your own designed Paper, I just love the look, i think it looks elegant with pretty flowers for example.

I will post some sample photo's below the video.

VIDEO TUTORIAL

Gatefold Card with gold foil and cherry cobbler accents. (Fall themed)

Here I backed with soft suede cs on an angle, added a flowe and leaves in the point area, sponged the bottom of the card in cherry bcobbler (my photography skills are lacking....looks pink)
I used gold foil accents  from the Wonderful Floral Framelit Dies
Again gold accents, punched holes and threaded garden green ribbon through the underneath of circle backed designed paper with soft sude cardstock
Country Floral Embossing Folder, 1-1/4" cut designed paper backed with colors I used, flirty flamingo, highland heather and daffodil delight and those measure just under 1-1/2". Accented with glitter enamel dots
Used the truly tailored punch, country floral embossing folder and same color cardstock as backing and enamel glitter dots, , bakers twine.
My favorite one...Country floral embossing folder, Lemon-Lime organdy ribbon, story time punche for sentiment (Lemon-Lime twist backing)
Cut 1'2" off front of card, Country floral embossing folder,1/2" strip designed paper on inside
2-3/4" square with punched out piece for sentiment, backing flirty flamingo with sentiment in black memento
No measurements on diagonal cuts,  just 4-1/2" X  3-1/4" backed with Highland Heather when finished, Lemon-Lime organdy ribbon, enamel glitter dots
