Rooted in Nature Shadow Box Frame #5 in Series

This is really a very pretty framed gift you can give someone to place on a shelf, their desk or table etc. I found one like this in the new 2018-2019 Annual Catalog which I am now going to call MY IDEA BOOK!  On page 61 Stampin' Up used the Apron of Love Stamp set and Framelits  and I thought it was so pretty, that would also make a lovely gift for the host of a summer BBQ with a bottle of wine or desert etc. I remember making this exact frame when I was attending classes myself and I loved it.

Measurements & Supplies

Rooted in Nature Bundle (Page 143-144)
12" X 12" Designer Series Paper (Trim to 11" X 11")
3 1/2" X  3 1/2" Whisper White Cardstock
3 Trees (Stamped and Die Cut)
10 assorted leaves stamped, die cut or embossed
(Use craps of white or colors to stamp and die cut leaves and large tree.
Simply Scored Tool
Tear and Tape or adhesive of choice

Instructions...
1.  Trim DSP down to 11" X 11"
2.  Score at 3/4", 1 1/2" 2 1/4" & 3" on all 4 sides

3.  Score at 3 3/4" & 7 1/4"  ONLY down to the second score line!
Rotate 180% and repeat.
4.  Cut up to the 4th score line on both sides( that DO NOT HAVE THE ADDITIONAL SCORE AT 3 3/4" & 7 1/4")
5. On side with lines up to 2nd score - Start on the right side and cut up straight to 2nd scoreline, cut up 1 diagonal to the RIGHT then up 1 straight.
Now on left side cut up to 2nd score line, cut diagonal to the LEFT then up 1 straight. Repeat on opposite side of paper.

Now your pattern should look like the photo above.

6. Fold and burnish all score lines.
7. Add tear and tape as close to first scoreline as possible on all 4 sides.

Unlike me in the video...the side you want to show in the finished shadow box frame IS the side you put the tear and tape on!
8. Turn over and put tear and tape on all 4 diagonal cuts.

9. Take backing off one of your straight cut sides. Fold up 2 scorelines (in half) and fold over again. Repeat on opposite side. On all sides with diagonal cuts...remove backing from tape and re-cover again with cut up pieces of backing about an inch long.
10. Remove backing strip and fold over so tape is now on the bottom and corners match, press tape down firmly and then repeat on other side then remove all the covered corner bits haning out and press tape to seal good. Your Shadow Box Frame is now ready to decorate!
11. Stamp tree and sentiment in color of choice on 3 1/2" square. Place inside frame. Decorate 2 corners with leaves.
